ABHP Strategic Vision, Mission, and Goals
Vision Statement
We believe in:
Pharmacists working in collaboration to establish a standard of excellence for healthcare that is equitable, accessible, culturally and ethnically appropriate for black and minority patients.
Mission Statement
ABHP believes that its purpose is to encourage members to promote the proper use of medication in black and minority communities. The ABHP shall foster collaboration, leadership, education, advocacy, and research that protect and improve the health status and quality of life of minority patients and advance the practice of ethnic minority pharmacists in the health systems.
Goals
Goal 1: Collaboration and Partnering
1. The ABHP will ensure its long-term growth, rise in eminence, and sustainability through strong and productive collaboration and partnering with other organizations to address health disparities by working together towards a common goal of improving the health outcomes of underserved communities.
Goal 2: Leadership
2. The ABHP will rise to eminence by focusing on advancing the organization’s mission, fostering effective teams, ensuring sustainability, and maximizing impact that benefits both its members and the community they serve.
Goal 3. Education
3. ABHP shall set clear educational goals focused on advancing healthcare for Black and underserved patients for driving impact and fostering community engagement.
Goal 4: Advocacy and Policy Success
4. ABHP shall advance healthcare initiatives that are aligned with its mission and vision, aiming to reduce disparities, influence policy, and improve access and quality of care.
Goal 5: Research & Innovation
5. Research goals are essential for ABHP to advance minority patient healthcare, as they provide evidence to inform policy, improve practices, and address disparities. ABHP shall foster and promote impactful research efforts, aligned with its strategic objectives, and contributing to meaningful change.
